Brighton Antifolk Festival 2025
Brighton’s offbeat music gathering returns this October with the Brighton Antifolk Festival 2025, bringing together a vibrant mix of oddball musicians and bands, and genre-defying performers from across the city’s underground scene, as well as further afield.
Hosted at The Pipeline on Saturday 11th October, this FREE mini-fest kicks off at 4pm.

Brighton’s electrifying oddball wonky techno duo are the sonic lovechild of Adam Bell and Alan Odgers, known for blending shimmering synths, punchy beats, and guitar-driven textures into a genre-fluid dancefloor experience. Originally a DIY side project spun off from their band Octopuses, Fruity Water quickly carved out their own identity, earning BBC 6Music airplay with their debut album Thirst Takes.

En Heat are Brighton’s avant-garde antifolk disco-psych rock’n’rollers, a four-piece supergroup that’s equal parts glam, grit, and glorious chaos. Fronted by antifolk UK pioneer Filthy Pedro and featuring members Oliver Fist, Small Talk Adam, Killer Stu and Prince Smalan from cult acts like David Cronenberg’s Wife, Octopuses and The Foxes, they channel the swagger of Bowie, the eccentricity of Beck, and the bite of Mark E. Smith into a sound that’s as unpredictable as it is addictive.

Extradition Order are London’s cerebral indie provocateurs, known for turning political obsession into sonic art. Originally formed in Warrington and now based in Clerkenwell, this band blends antifolk, gothic indie, Northern Soul, and psychedelic pop into concept albums that read like historical dossiers set to music.

Mind Frog are Brighton’s cosmic conjurers of lo-fi psych-country-blues, delivering mystical revelations wrapped in fuzzed-out riffs and swampy grooves. Their sound is a genre-fluid swirl—equal parts desert hallucination and backwoods sermon—anchored by hypnotic rhythms and a flair for theatrical weirdness. If you imagine a frog-shaped spaceship crash-landing in a spaghetti western, you’re halfway there.

Emerging from Eastbourne’s DIY scene, Lissamore are alt-punk romantics, weaving cinematic guitar lines, brooding vocals, and emotionally raw lyricism into a sound that feels both intimate and expansive. Their music balances vulnerability with swagger—think windswept coastal melancholy meets post-punk grit.

Fare is the solo project of Lucy P, a Brighton-based singer-songwriter whose music blends lo-fi textures, ambient folk, and intimate lyricism into a sound that feels like a quiet confession in a sunlit bedroom. Her debut EP She Makes Me is a delicate exploration of identity, longing, and emotional vulnerability, wrapped in soft guitar loops and hushed vocals that drift like smoke.
4:45 Cider Dogs
Cider Dogs are Brighton’s scrappy fusion of punk grit and country swagger—think barroom brawls with banjos. It’s punk with a southern drawl: loud, loose, and laced with cider-fuelled storytelling. Whether stomping through New City Hotel or howling at the moon, Cider Dogs blur the line between rebellion and revelry.

Recently moving base from London to Brighton, Bobby Fire Radio is a singer-songwriter whose music blends raw storytelling, lo-fi textures, and a touch of apocalyptic Americana. His songs feel like dispatches from the edge—intimate, intense, and unfiltered—delivered with just a guitar, a voice, and a whole lot of gravity.
